Dear Praying Friends,
I send this letter while rejoicing at what the Lord is doing here in Kingston, Jamaica.
Since coming back to Jamaica after being in the States for the birth of
our second child, our church has entered a new phase. Each week we have
first-time visitors and people are being saved in every service.
Our current location that we rent for two hours on Sunday has room for
55 chairs. Even with the limited space, we are averaging nearly 80 each
Sunday.
After much prayer and searching, our Heavenly Father has opened a new
door for us. I have just secured a 3,700 square foot building which
will allow us to have a 175 seat auditorium, junior church room, two
additional Sunday school rooms, baptistry changing rooms, office,
nursery, and kitchen.
Plans are to have our first service at this new location on June 14. On
July 19 we will have our dedication service where we are praying that
we will beat our record Sunday of 151 with 200.
A second note of praise, I just spoke with Mark Cogley, a deacon and
builder from the First Baptist Church of Hammond. Bro. Cogley will be
coming down the first two weeks of June to construct our platform and
to perform other needed construction on the building. During his stay
with us, my father and mother will also be here.
I would like for you to partner with me in prayer over the following
matters. With this opportunity comes tremendous needs. We are going to
have to paint the interior of the building, purchase 115 chairs, and
the materials necessary to build the preaching platform.
Though we do have money put away that was previously donated to us by
some churches, we are still in need of $6,000. If you could take this
prayer request, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you for praying and all your support.
Serving HIM in Kingston,
T.J. Kimmel
